Robison; Richard Ashby Robison (born January 10, 1933 in Fillmore, Utah) is an American paleontologist; he was professor of geology at the University of Kansas; Robison graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in 1957 and a master's degree in 1958, and he received a doctorate in geology in 1962 from the University of Texas; from 1959-1960 he worked for the US Geological Survey; in 1962 he was assistant professor of geology at the University of Utah, and from 1966-1967 he was Associate Curator of Paleontology of Invertebrates at the Smithsonian Institution; in 1967 he was an associate professor and later professor at the University of Utah and in 1974 he was Hedberg Professor of Geology at the University of Kansas; he focused in particular on the invertebrate fauna of the Cambrian and especially trilobites and biostratigraphy; from 1978-1985 he was editor of the Treatise on Invertebrate Paleontology)
