Howard-Tilton Memorial Library


  • [The Howard-Tilton Memorial Library is the main library of Tulane University, in New Orleans, Louisiana, opened in March 1941.] As an academic and research library, it supports undergraduate and graduate programs in the humanities, social sciences, and science and engineering, as well as serving as a resource for researchers within and beyond Tulane. It was formed from the merger (agreed upon in 1938) of the Howard Memorial Library, Tulane's F.W. Tilton Memorial Library, and Tulane's Newcomb College Library. The Howard-Tilton Memorial Library moved into its current building location in 1968.
