Chatman appeared in the Boston directory of 1900 doing business as Frederick J. Quinby and Company; later that year, another partnership was formed as Huegle, Quinby & Co., bookbinders, at 17 Harcourt Street; by 1902, referred to in the directory as Harcourt Bindery; by 1910, Quinby disappeared from the Boston directory, but the Harcourt Bindery was purchased by Oakes and William H. Ames of North Easton and Gilmer Clapp of Waltham and incorporated in 1911)
