Received BA from Augusta College and then attended the Lane Theological Seminary in Cincinnati. Worked for the American Missionary Association, founded anti-slavery churches in Lewis and Bracken Counties (Ky.) and was minister to several churches in Madison County, Ky. Lived in Berea until he was driven out of the state to Cincinnati. In 1864 he found a new missionary field at Camp Nelson, Kentucky's military camp for African American soldiers. Fee set up schools and founded a church at Camp Nelson while continuing his mission to found an integrated college and community at Berea, which eventually happened in 1869 with him encouraging many Camp Nelson residents to resettle to Berea. Died in Berea on January 11, 1901.)
