found: Kentucky encyclopedia, ©1992:pages 309-310 ("Henry Lawrence Faulkner", painter, born in Simpson County, Ky. January 9, 1924. After his mother's death, he and his siblings were sent to live at the Kentucky Children's Home in Louisville. Lived with foster parents in Clay County, Ky. Attended Louisville Junior Art School and Berea College. Earned a scholarship to the Corcoran Gallery Academy in Washington, D. C., then spent three years at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles County. Moved to Lexington, Ky. in 1955 where he lived for the rest of his life, wintering in Key West, Florida. Died in an automobile accident in Lexington, Ky. on December 5, 1981.)
