found: Kentucky encyclopedia, ©1992:page 198 (Marcellus Jerome ("Sue Mundy") Clarke Clay, born August 25, 1844 or 1845 near Franklin (Simpson County), Kentucky. enlisted in Confederate army and was mustered at Camp Burnett near Clarksville, Tennessee.; Taken prisoner and sent to Camp Morton near Indianapolis, Indiana. Joined John Hunt Morgan's raisers then a guerrilla band that terrorized Kentucky during the Civil War. Died of hanging at Louisville fairgrounds.)
