  • [Mexican-German photographer who commenced her career in photojournalism in 1975 and is most renowned for her work chronicling dance and theatre events in Mexico. Ms. Cowrie relocated to Mexico in 1963 and commenced her career at the newspaper Excélsior in 1975. In 1977, she was one of the founders of the newspaper Unomásuno, where she focused on ecological journalism. In the mid-nineties, she began to shift her focus towards dance and theatre photography, working with the National Research Centres for Dance and Theatre belonging to INBAL. She has created an extensive archive with these institutions, which is regarded as one of the most important in Mexico. Her contributions to the field have been recognised with membership of the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana.]
