La Menera de Cabrenç, région secrète, 1993:t.p. ; p. 12, 13 (situated at 820 meters of altitude, La Menera is the southernmost locality of France; with a surface of 2,323 hectares, it is bordered to the Northeast by Serrallonga, to the Northwest by Prats de Molló. To the South, it sits next to the high lands of the Garrotxa and the Ripollès. Except for the parish registers deposited in the clerk's office starting from 1737 and its commnunal civil registers starting from 1792, La Menera has practically lost its archives. Before becoming a parish then a "commune", La Menera was only a "place named" in the 15th Century)
