Family moved to Rochester, New York, where Rosetta attended the Seward Seminary. As the only African-American student, she was taught alone in a separate room from her classmates. Later attended the Preparatory Department at Oberlin College. Became a teacher in Salem, Massachusetts, then married. When her husband was arrested for mail theft, she and their children moved back with her parents in Washington, D.C. In 1896, following the death of her father, Frederick Douglass, she was frequently called upon and worked as a speaker. Died in 1906.)
