found: Dictionary of African Biography, accessed December 12 2014, via Oxford African American Studies Center database:(Colenso, Harriette; political activist; born 1847 in Norfolk, England; moved to South Africa In 1853 , when her father, John Colenso was appointed the Anglican bishop of Natal; became a British advocate for the Zulu kingdom and Anglican missionary, a steadfast supporter of the Zulu king Dinizulu ka Cetshwayo; wrote frequently to the Aborigine s' Protection Society in London and tried to mediate between the Usuthu and colonial officials; in 1888 Dinizulu and other Usuthu leaders were charged with treason; following the Zulu king's profound defeat, the Church of the Province, which was the official branch of the Anglican Church in South Africa, dispossessed her and her sister Agnes of their family's property at Bishopstowe (1910); the Colenso sisters nonetheless remained in Pietermaritzburg, where she remained engaged in African politics; died 1932 in South Africa)
