H. Banning Auto Repair Shop in Ames (1922-1928); was named the chief pilot of the Bessie Coleman Aero Club (1929); became a demonstration pilot, flying a two-seater Hummingbird biplane named "Miss Ames" in Los Angeles (1926); he and his mechanic set off to fly from Los Angeles to New York (1932); his life ended in tragedy the following year, during an air show in San Diego; died 05 February 1933 in San Diego, California, United States)
