Argentina, a Good Neighbor ship; became a U.S Army Transport (USAT) ship on Jan. 2, 1942 for service as a troop ship in WWII; after reconversion, returned to Moore-McCormack Lines by the Maritime Commission; accepted as a US Naval Reserve ship on Jan. 14, 1948; taken out of service and returned by Moore-McCormack Lines to the Federal Maritime Board; offered for sale in late 1963 by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce; sold for scrap in 1964)
