found: Revistionistas, la otra historia de los argentinos WWW page 5 November 2014:José Amalfitani (1894-1969; son of Italian immigrants from Calabria to Argentina; was known as Don Pepe, first of 12 children; b. 16 June 1894, d. 14 May 1969; Jan. 1 1910 soccer club Argentinos de Vélez Sarmiento formed by Carlos Guglielmone, Martín Portilllo and Nicolás Marín, and on 7 Feb. 1913, ten new members joined, among them José Amalfitani; in 1915 he, with Juan González, was designated representatives of the club at the Asociación Argentina de Football; the club was the first with its own publication because of him; in 1923, at 29 years old he became the president of the club; in 1932, Amalfitani bought a large piece of land in Liniers, where he lived until his death; in the 1940s, the club was lowered in category and he was called upon to fix the situation, they made him president on 26 Jan. 1941, a post which he would fill until his death, as he would constantly be reelected; drew young people into the club to revitalize it and organized building of sports complex in Liniers; stadium of the team named after him)
