Paxton-Mierzejewski) Biographical Statement (Adèle Paxton Mierzejewski, LL.B (Hons), Dip LP, PPRNCM, ALCM, studied classical singing and performance at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, and at the Britten-Pears School for Advanced Musical Studies, in Aldeburgh, England. She has won many awards including the Mary Garden International Silver Medal, Royal Over-Seas League International Gold Medal, Society of Women Musicians' Award and title of Commonwealth Musician of the Year, 1991. Performances include at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, at Glyndebourne, Aldeburgh, and Berkshire Festivals, Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral, Alice Tully Hall, NY, as well as at major venues elsewhere throughout Europe, in South America and the USA. A faculty member at Central CT State University since 1998, where she teaches voice, she has had students accepted to voice programs at New England and Boston Conservatories, Florida State University, and Westminster Choir College. She was invited to teach young international opera artists at the Tiroler Opern Programm in Austria. Adèle also maintains a private voice studio, specializing in therapeutic voicework that encompasses rehabilitative voice work and integrative emotional processing. The Association for Creativity in Counseling has published about her work, and she has presented on her mindful approach to breath and voice at several conferences in Connecticut.)
