Thereafter he returned to his East-Prussian hometown Braunsberg (Braniewo, ethnically German but politically Polish since the late 15th century). There he served as rector of the Jesuit college until 1596-1600, when he was rector at the University of Wilna. Thereafter he became provincial and confessor to the Polish ruler in Cracow, Sigismund III, whom he served until his death)
