found: Wikipédia, October 8, 2018(Frédéric Marguet (Algiers, June 11, 1874-Villeneuve-Loubet, June 2, 1951), French naval officer. Frédéric Marguet entered l'École navale in 1891; after a dozen years at sea, he returned to l'École navale as a professor of naval architecture, then astronomy and maritime navigation. Having reached retirement age in 1933, he was retained at the school in a civil capacity as archival secretary; he retired to Paris in 1937, then to Villeneuve-Loubet in 1940. He was known for his astronomical observations, the history of science and philosophy. His Histoire de la longitude à la mer au XVIIIe siècle earned him a share of the Binoux Prize of l'Académie des sciences and a gold medal from the Société de géographie; followed by Histoire générale de la navigation du XVe au XXe siècle (1931))
