Gavotte három hegedűre és gordonkára, c1982:title page (Gavotte három hegedűre és gordonkára = for three violins and violoncello; first edition) page 3 (Kodály's Gavotte is found in his estate in two versions; the first is a manuscript in which the piece, presumably composed for piano, is notated only as a sketch; the second is a "piano reduction-like copy in an alien hand" with instrumentation indicated as 3 violins (treble clef) and cello (bass clef); since dynamic markings have been added in the composer's hand to the latter version, it may be assumed that Kodály accepted this copy as authentic; there are minor deviations between the two versions)
