Founder of the Lynchburg chapter of the NAACP. Attended Virginia Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, graduating in 1899. Became the first librarian of the black high xchool's branch of the Jones Memorial Library at Lynchburg's Dunbar High School. Died in Lynchburg July 27, 1975.)
