found: El país WWW site, viewed Aug. 5, 2020(in obituary dated Aug. 2, 2020: Julio Diamante (Cádiz 1930) died Saturday, Aug. 1 in Madrid after living almost 90 intense and active years devoted to cinema, as director and screenwriter; to theater, to the small screen, to poetry, to the essay, to permanent activism and to transmitting the ideology and commitment of the Second Republic. After the [Civil] War he moved to Madrid where remained and where he became director of the Teatro de la Universidad. He graduated in 1961 from the Inst. de Investigaciones y Experiencias Cinematográficas, precursor of the Escuela Oficial de Cinematografía de Madrid, of which he was later a professor. As a poet he published Blues hondo and Cantes de ida y vuelta, and among film people his essays Los trabajos y los días, De la idea al film, and Cine, cultura y libertad: contra las sombras y el silencio are especially valued)
