After teaching English and working as a technical writer, Dave joined TSR, Inc. as editor for Polyhedron Newszine. From there he clawed his way over to Dungeon Adventures, Dragon Magazine, Star Wars Insider and Gamer, and finally Amazing Stories. His first professional publications were short stories in various Forgotten Realms anthologies. His first full-length novel was Black Wolf, followed by the final volume of the Sembia series, Lord of Stormweather.
