Doughty & Co at that address as publisher) (1787-88), 279 Holborn (1789), Cambridge (by 1798), London; etcher, publisher, and draughtsman; early work as a satirist and reproductive stipple etcher; later draughtsman, and provided designs for the Cambridge University Almanac between 1803 and 1810; elder brother of John Baldrey with whom he worked on occasion, e.g. on a print of Dr. Cooke, but as Farington recorded on 13 Sept 1805, they had fallen out by then as John had failed to engrave a print for Joshua and seems to have gone off with some of the subscription money)

found: Oxford DNB online ed., 13 Aug. 2014(Joshua Kirby Baldrey (1754-1828), draughtsman and engraver; for over twenty years Joshua Baldrey worked in London or Cambridge, never settling permanently in either; his first imprints as engraver and printseller were issued from Mr Dibbs's at Green Street, Grosvenor Square, in 1780, but he was in Trumpington Street in Cambridge in 1785, and back at Doughty & Co. in Holborn three years later, producing a series of satires against Hastings, Thurlow, and Pitt; he exhibited portraits at the Royal Academy in 1793 and 1794; from about 1800 he and his son John, whose satires and portraits are in stipple and line, were together in Trinity Street, Cambridge; in 1811 Baldrey described himself as a miniature painter there; he died on 6 December 1828)
