Tyler Miller, 1902-1988, was born July 25 in Washington, Virginia. He earned a B. S. from Virginia Military Academy in 1923, and an LL. D. from Bridgewater College in 1955. He was the third president of Madison College, serving from 1949-1970. During his administration, enrollment increased from 1,000 students to 4,300. Twenty-one major buildings were also constructed during his tenure. President Miller died in 1988.)
