It was finally incorporated as "The First Baptist Society of the Town of Bushwick, Long Island." ..."By Chapter 301, of the Laws of 1866, passed March 21, 1866, the name was changed to 'The Gethsemane Baptist Church of Brooklyn.' By an order of the Supreme Court filed in the office of the Clerk of Kings County, January 6, 1879, the name was changed to 'Willoughby Avenue Baptist Church.' By order of the Supreme Court, January 11, 1888, the name was changed to 'The Greene Avenue Baptist Church.' In 1916 the Greene Avenue Baptist Church was consolidated with the 'Trinity Baptist Church,' and it now holds to the same.")
