found: Wikipedia website, viewed April 2, 2018(Ruth Mitchell; Ruth Mitchell was born around 1888 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Harriet Danforth (Becker) Mitchell and John Lendrum Mitchell. Her grandfather was the wealthy banker and railroad tycoon Alexander Mitchell. She had two sisters and two brothers, William (known as Billy), who became a general and John, a World War I aviator who died flying over France in 1917. Ruth Mitchell was married three times. After her first marriage, she took up photography and writing. In 1938, she worked as a reporter for the Illustrated London News and cover the wedding of King Zog of Albania. She stayed in Europe for four more years based out of Belgrade, Yugoslavia. She reported on the Chetniks and later became a member. She was caught spying by the Gestapo, imprisoned over a year but later released in a prisoner of war exchange through the pressure of the Swiss government in 1942. Ruth Mitchell would later write books about her brother General Billy Mitchell and her war time experiences. She died in 1969 in Belas Portugal of a heart attack.)
