His poetry has been published in the Beloit Poetry Journal, Weave, Juked, Able Muse, Sentence, Phantom Limb, and many other magazines. His detective novel, American graveyards, was published in the UK by Third Alternative Press. Ray is a Foreign Service Officer with the Department of State, and was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Turkmenistan. Ray speaks Russian and Azerbaijani, and has lived and worked in the countries of Central Asia and the former Soviet Union for nearly a decade. His current posting is to Baku, Azerbaijan.)
