She married Henry James Taylor, a professor of Greek, who she met at the University of Wisconsin. Mrs. H. J. Taylor taught school before her marriage and also lived in Sioux City, Iowa. After her husband's death, she moved to Berkeley, California, and Yosemite Valley. She was one of the founders of the Yosemite Museum and was its librarian and a docent for many years. Besides Yosemite Indians and Other Sketches, Mrs. H. J. Taylor wrote The Last Survivor and other books and articles for the Yosemite Natural History Association; She died Jan. 25, 1951 in Alameda Co., California)
