Moved with his family to the Cumberland River Valley in what became Clinton County. Joined the Baptist Church at Clear Fork, Ky. and soon began preaching. Purchased two hundred acres of land in Wayne County, Ky. Ordained as a Presbyterian minister in May 1808. Sold his farm and moved to Huntsville, Alabama to establish a cotton plantation. Fire destroyed the cabin he was renting there, a fire that also killed two of his children. He returned to Kentucky, remarried after he was widowed and lived in Montgomery County, Ky. where he preached across Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana. Moved to Georgetown, Ky., then later to Mexico, Missouri where he died on February 28, 1868.)
