Ford in 1862 as Ford's Atheneum, which was destroyed by a fire later in the year. The rebuilt Ford's Theater opened in 1863 and was closed after Lincoln's assassination in 1863. The building partially collapsed in 1893 but was rebuilt as the Lincoln Museum. It was restored to its 1865 appearance in the 1960s.)
