found: Montenet web site, June 2, 1998:History/Petar I (Petar I victoriously led Montenegrins into many important battles against the Ottomans, including the battles at Martinici and Krusi in 1796. At the crucial battle at Krusi the Turkish army of 30000 led by Mahmut-Pasa Busatlija was defeated with heavy casualties by a force of 6000 Montenegrins led by vladika Petar I (3 Oct. 1796). The biggest importance of this battle of Krusi lays in the fact that it was won by a coalition of Montenegrins and Highland (Brđa) tribes. Brđa held their tribal assembly declaring unification with Montenegro and accepting the rule of Petar I.)
