The giant mold in which it is vulcanized weighs 300,000 pounds and stands two and a half stories high when the cover is open. The top section of the mold which is raised and lowered to admit the tire, weighs sixteen tons. Large bullet- sealing gasoline and oil tanks are also being cured in this mold
