21. Highsmith, Carol M., 1946- A scene at the Getaway Grille and Cubbie Bar that takes some careful explaining. A "Cubbie bar" is a tavern frequented by ardent fans of the Chicago Cubs major-league baseball teams, and to a slightly lesser degree, other Chicago teams as well. Hence the Cub player cut-outsand the replica of the Wrigley Field (Cubs' home stadium) sign. Of note: this bar is not in Chicago or its suburbs but in Brigman, Michigan, two states and 95 miles from Wrigley Field. Such is the passion of Chicago sports fans. As for the goat: it relates to a 61-year-long supposed "curse of the billy goat" broken when the Cubs won baseball's world championship in 2016

22. Highsmith, Carol M., 1946- This 2015 sculpture in Lansing, the capital city of Michigan, is, and isn't, what it seems. The 2015 statue, called "The Worker," does sport a basketball uniform of a Michigan State University player (the university is in neighboring East Lansing). But tht's tempory, and the sculpture has nothing to do with the school, the team, or basketball. The sculpture is all about the blue-collar industry of Lansing. In thewords of its creator, Rick Luke, "It represents what this city was built on. It represents hard work"
