[Beginning ca. 1895 the Alaska Agricultural Experiment Stations were established in various locations in the State. In 1931 the Stations were placed under control of the University of Alaska; when the University reorganized ca. 1971 it became part of the University of Alaska in Fairbanks. In 1973 [incorrect: actually January 1971] it was renamed the Institute of Agricultural Sciences and in 1975 the Institute's name was changed to Agricultural Experiment Station.]
