Stafford, Edward Peary, 1918-2013

[Edward Peary Stafford (b. July 16, 1918, Portland, Maine-d. September 24, 2013, Melbourne, Florida), son of Marie Peary and Edward Stafford, grandson of Arctic explorer Robert Edwin Peary, was a graduate of Western High School in Washington, D.C., and then a graduate of Dartmouth College. He was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy both during and after World War II. Later in this career, he was a speech writer on the staff of the Secretary of the Navy, the American Revolution Bicentennial Administration, and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
