Stanley Brothers, Jr., passed away Sept. 18, 1976 at Bronson Hospital. He was born July 14, 1896 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a musician playing the violin for many years in the local Butterfield Theatre. Prior to and during the 1920's he composed many popular songs which were published. He wrote greeting card material for greeting card publishers throughout the years. He was also considered an authority on Early American glass. He wrote for several magazines dealing with antiques. He was author of Thumbnail Sketches and many other articles on glass. He was a veteran of WWI having servied in the U.S. Army and he was one of the original founders and a life member of the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts.
