found: Bio. dir. of the U.S. Congress(Cook, George Washington, 1851-1916; representative from Colo.; b. in Bedford, Lawrence County, Ind., Nov. 10, 1851; served in 145th Regiment, Indiana Volunteer Infantry during Civil War; moved to Chicago in 1880 and worked for Louisville, New Albany & Chicago Railway; moved to Leadville, Colo. in 1880 and became division superintendent of Denver & Rio Grande Railroad; mayor of Leadville, 1885-1887; moved to Denver in 1888 and became general sales agent for Colorado Fuel & Iron Co.; dept. commander of the Grand Army of the Republic for Colo. and Wyo. in 1891 and 1892; senior vice commander in chief of Grand Army of the Republic in 1905 and 1906; elected as a Republican to the 60th Congress (March 4, 1907-March 3, 1909); d. in Pueblo, Colo., Dec. 18, 1916)
